Creep Simulation and Validation for a Finite Element Analysis of Expanded Polystyrene-Based Cushioning Systems

The creep strain resistance of expanded polystyrene (EPS) is important; thus, time-dependent properties EPS have been significant interest. This study a part the computer-aided engineering (CAE) prediction-technology development for inclination unitized loads packaged appliances applied to EPS-based cushioning systems. Creep are validated ensure finite element analysis (FEA) reliability regarding behavior elastic modulus and Poisson’s ratio (EPS properties) as well (plastic were measured. density range was 16–30 kg/m3, temperature 0–60 °C. Because measured mechanical not temperature-dependent, only their dependence analyzed. behavior, over 12 h, exhibited amount rate, depending on stress level.
